Program:

Welcome speech by Isabelle FAURE, Director of the Alliance Française de Canberra and Chief Representative of Fondation Alliance Française in Australia.
Master of ceremony: Richard ROWE, member of the Cultural Committee and former Australian Ambassador.

1. Who was la Pérouse? by Catherine CARDINET
-  Speaker: Catherine Cardinet, French teacher and event manager.
-  Short introduction to the life and times of La Pérouse.

2. The significance of the expedition that La Pérouse led, departing Brest, France on 1 August 1785 by Greg BOND
-  Speaker: Greg BOND, Honorary Treasurer - Friend of the La Pérouse Museum Inc. and Tour Guide at La Pérouse and Sydney Harbour conducting tour groups and school education programs for NSW National Parks.
-  Description of the creation, purposes and participants in the expedition, reports of their findings and various unresolved mysteries.

3. Reading of Ian BAILLIEU's poem, "Enigma variations"
- Speakers: Ian BAILLIEU and students from Telopea Park School

4. Reflections on the significance of La Pérouse by Carole ROUSSEL
- Speaker: Carole ROUSSEL, friend of La Pérouse Museum.
- Discussion about La Pérouse Museum in Sydney and its history.
